Sunday, September 26th, 1909: Pretty much all season Mike Shannon was "in the zone" and had his way with opposing pitchers. The Icecats left fielder managed to stay there long enough to earn the Sub League 2 Outstanding Hitter Award for 1909.
He assaulted SL2 pitchers for a .340 batting average, 174 hits, 21 home runs and 67 RBIs, while scoring 72 times.

Sunday, September 26th, 1909: The Sub League 1 Outstanding Hitter Award has been picked for 1909 and the winner is Corpus Christi catcher Marv Foley.
He finished his outstanding season with a .273 batting average, 116 hits, 18 home runs, 64 RBIs, .379 OBP and 49 runs scored.

 | SL2 Announces Outstanding Pitcher Award
Saturday, September 25th, 1909: In the spotlight today is Bill Bishop of the Rochester Militia. The bullpen ace was presented the coveted Sub League 2 Outstanding Pitcher Award for 1909.
He converted 28 saves with a 2-4 won-lost record and 1.90 ERA. He appeared in 45 games and struck out 41 in 47.1 innings.
