Thursday, October 25th, 1906: At Exposition Park today Washington outclassed the Pittsburgh Pirates 3-1 and won the Major League 1905 World Series for the 1st time in its club history.
The Senators rounded out the 1906 season with a 88-66 mark and wound up in first place in the American pennant chase. |

Davy Force is soaking up the praise today after hitting an eye-popping .404 this season. The Chicago Cubs third baseman surpassed even his own expectations.
"I thought I could hit .350, maybe," he said, his eyes misting over. "To go beyond that..." His voice trailed off before he continued, "It's like a dream."
The Cubs star made the season a nightmare for his opposition, rattling off 289 hits including 37 doubles, 4 triples and 1 home runs. He scored 111 times and collected 77 runs batted in. |

Hey guys, We are back simming again. Vacation over. Sim is done, the file is posted and HTML updated. There is only one week left in the regular season. Boston American the only team to clinch a playoff spot. The A’s lead the Sox by one game for the AL Wildcard. The Cubs lead the Beaneaters by a half game, while Boston leads the Pirates by 3 games for the NL Wildcard. Best of luck to all teams in the last sim. Next sim is Tuesday night at 8 pm eastern, playoffs start Thursday. Thanks all |

Regular season is over. The A’s will take on the Americans in the AL while the Cubs and Beaneaters will face off in the NL. Congrats to the 4 teams for making the playoffs in our first season. File and HTML are updated. Next sim is being pushed from Thursday until Sunday at 8. Please make sure your rosters are set. All teams need to be back to 25 players on the active roster. Irate Schmidt Suspended 2 Games
Tuesday, August 8th, 1905: Brooklyn third baseman Mike Schmidt was ejected in the game between the Superbas and Cardinals for letting loose a profanity-laced tirade against the home plate umpire after some calls didn't go the way he wanted. Schmidt was incensed in the loss to St. Louis and was just as angry after the game.
"These guys are a joke. How can people expect to take this game seriously when you have games like this?" Schmidt said in the locker room after the game.
Now Schmidt must face the consequences of this actions. League officials released this brief statement to the media: "We are regretful that Schmidt has taken this to the level that it has reached. The league will not tolerate this type of conduct. Due to his actions during and after the game, the league is suspending him for 2 games."
So far this season Schmidt has put up a .286 batting average with 112 hits, 16 home runs and 58 RBIs.
