Force Hits in 32 Straight Games Saturday, July 15th, 1905: The number just keeps getting higher and higher. Cubs third baseman Davy Force has now extended his hitting string to 32 games. He did it with 1 hit in the Chicago 12-5 win over the Superbas at Washington Park III. D. Force singled in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, flied out in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, flied out in the 7th and flied out in the 9th.
A look at his current stats shows Force with a .424 average, 1 home run, 38 RBIs and 70 runs scored. He has played in 80 games.

AL's Best Starter is Rasmussen Saturday, July 1st, 1905: Eric Rasmussen has made fans throughout Major League 1905 take notice over the past month with an exceptional 3-1 record. No pitcher in the American threw better in June, garnering him the Pitcher of the Month award today.
In 5 starts Rasmussen compiled a 1.93 ERA, putting up a 3-1 record, striking out 13 and tossing 42 innings.
On his stats sheet this season Rasmussen shows a 6-4 record, 13 starts, 93 innings, 24 strikeouts and a 3.39 ERA. |

Force's Hit Streak Reaches 20 Games Sunday, July 2nd, 1905: An opposing pitcher told BNN after the St. Louis-Chicago game today, "Davy Force is hitting everything you throw at him. He is one tough out. Fortunately things went our way in the ballgame today and we came away with a 7-4 win. But Force still continued his streak."
The Cubs third baseman now has hit safely in his last 20 games. He was 2-4 in today's contest. D. Force flied out in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th and singled in the 8th.
This season in 68 games Force is batting .418 with 1 home run, 32 RBIs and has scored 58 times. |

June's Best NL Hurler is Niedenfuer Saturday, July 1st, 1905: "The kid had it all working last month," a veteran teammate told reporters. "He keeps up those kind of numbers, we may have to start inviting him out with us after the games."
Tom Niedenfuer put together a very solid month to take home the National's top pitching honor in June.
The 23-year-old reliever threw like a veteran. In 12 relief appearances he raked in 6 saves and 11 strikeouts in 17.2 innings as he put together his 2-0 record and 0.51 ERA.
So far this season, Niedenfuer has put up these stats: 31 relief appearances, 15 saves, 37.2 IP, 21 strikeouts, and 1.43 ERA. His won-lost record is 3-1, and the opposition is hitting .221 against him. |

Pirates Stone Blanks Phillies Saturday, June 17th, 1905: Dean Stone of the Pittsburgh Pirates really did a job on the Phillies today at Exposition Park, shutting them out 7-0. Stone frustrated Philadelphia hitters throughout the game, surrendering 5 hits. He struck out 4 and walked 2 in picking up the victory.
Checking out his stats for the season, Stone has racked up 1 win and 4 losses in 12 starts, 3.81 ERA and struck out 16 batters in 78 innings.
