Davy Force is soaking up the praise today after hitting an eye-popping .404 this season. The Chicago Cubs third baseman surpassed even his own expectations. "I thought I could hit .350, maybe," he said, his eyes misting over. "To go beyond that..." His voice trailed off before he continued, "It's like a dream." The Cubs star made the season a nightmare for his opposition, rattling off 289 hits including 37 doubles, 4 triples and 1 home runs. He scored 111 times and collected 77 runs batted in. |
